Cryo-TEM: TFS Tundra

The TFS Tundra is a 100 kV cryo-TEM that is capable of intermediate-level resolution of 3-5 Å. The high-brightness field emission gun (X-FEG) paired with the Falcon C Direct Electron Detector increases the resolution of macromolecules to help resolve structures in single particle analysis using the EPU software. This cryo-TEM is ideal for new microscopists and has a user-friendly interface to make automated acquisition accessible while giving biologically relevant data. To insert samples, the Transfer Device on the cryo-loading workstation is used for Autogrid exchange from the cassette to the Tundra. Experienced users can expect to screen up to 10 samples a day with a loading/unloading cycle of approximately 20 minutes.
