RCA EMU-2E

EM museum

This RCA EMU-2E was produced by the Radio Corporation of America in the mid 1950s. It was initially purchased by the Department of Microbiology at UGA. The TEM was transferred to Geology, and in 1981 was placed at Gainesville Junior College (now Univ. of North Georgia). The microscope was returned “home” to UGA in 1985.
Interesting features: Operated at 50 Kev. Resolution was guaranteed better than 10nm, but 2nm was obtained on some of these instruments.
